The naïve paintings of these artists, called young art, express with delicacy and minutia, on small sizes canvas, the life of the farmers working in the rice fields, the women sawing the rice young shoots with ability and fastness, the head covered by large hats to protect from the strong sun rays, or, in the shadow of a palm tree or giant flowers, the share sometimes the company of a buffle, ducks, butterflies and dragonflies. Elsewhere, other women, colourfully clothed, walk graciously, wearing a burden with elegance on their head, while other women are taking care of the harvest. It is all these activities, - in the shadow of a Hindus temple which is never far -, that the Balinese painters express, raised in the heart of a culture of wise ness and meditation, nearly like a ritual. These works are small masterpieces of enchantment for the eyes.
